PlanIt Live User Guide
PlanIt Live is built for the moment you are already outside. Open the app, check what matters now or tonight, adjust timing, set a reminder, and get back to shooting.
PlanIt Live
Current location field companion
Home is a fast field dashboard. It follows your current location and the app time, then shows the cards you enabled for the kind of shoot you are doing.
Swipe horizontally or drag supported charts to move the app time. Linked cards update together, so Sun, Moon, Milky Way, tide, and satellite context stays aligned.
Cards are modular. Keep a compact setup for quick checks, or enable specialized groups for night photography, aurora, space weather, seascapes, and satellites.
Open PlanIt Live when you arrive on location and confirm the app has your current location.
Pick a front-page setup that matches the shoot: essentials, night sky, aurora, seascape, satellites, or compact.
Use the time controls to scrub through the evening or morning and watch the cards update together.
Add reminders for key moments such as Blue Hour, moonrise, low tide, flare checks, or interval sequences.
Use Compass or AR only after checking orientation accuracy. Recalibrate if the direction is clearly wrong.
These are the current free cards marked ready in the PlanIt Live registry. Home can stay compact, or you can enable specialized cards for night sky, aurora, space weather, seascapes, satellites, alerts, and photo calculations.
Always shown at the top with the current day, location, and the main field conditions.

Tide height curve with high and low times.
Official tide-station predictions and live water level where available.
Current satellite position, direction, altitude, range, and speed.
Upcoming visible satellite passes with brightness filtering.
NWS severe weather warnings and watches for your area.

Frame count and focus distances for stacking.
Longest shutter before stars trail.
Polar-scope clock and single-star alignment.
Landscape light changes fast. Set reminders before the shoot so you can keep photographing instead of watching the clock.
Trigger at or before natural events such as sunrise, moonrise, Blue Hour, or another supported card event.
Use a fixed clock time for wake-up, departure, setup, or a planned shot.
Repeat at a fixed gap for manual time-lapses, eclipse sequences, bracketed checks, or repeat shots.
The compass points toward the Sun, Moon, Milky Way Center, and supported overlays. AR places those directions over the camera view for composition checks. Phone orientation sensors vary, so recalibrate if the display is clearly off.
Live focuses on your current location. Some cards require an internet connection, including weather, tides, space-weather data, solar imagery, alerts, and updated satellite elements.
